Project name: St Vincent Street, Glasgow
Client: Castlemore Securities
Architecture: SMC Hugh Martin Architects
Landscape Projects explored the possibilities for making public realm connections across steeply-sloping
urban sites in this commission at St Vincent Street in Glasgow.
Situated at the western edge of the distinctive urban grid of city-centre Glasgow, adjacent to the M8 Motorway and the financial district, the landscape would complement the building in defining a gateway to the city centre.
The project consists of 3 public spaces, each making use of the topography through steps, terraces, unifying retaining walls, railings and gates to create new places for day and night-time activity.
